Rapid Alerts for Members

A call-out is an urgent message your agency sends to its members, for example when a search or other response needs people. This page covers what you can see in the web app. Sending call-outs and setting up devices is covered in the administrator guide.

Alpha feature

Rapid Alerts is an alpha feature. It only appears if your agency has the Rapid Emergency Alerting module turned on. If Rapid Alerts isn't in your left menu, your agency doesn't have it yet.

How You Receive and Answer a Call-Out

Call-outs are built to reach members on their phones, and members answer from the RAM mobile app. The mobile app is currently on hold, so phones can't receive or answer call-outs through RAM right now, and this guide doesn't cover answering from a phone. Ask your administrator how your agency is handling call-outs for now.

The web app is where you can look up a call-out afterward or while it's open.

Finding Call-Outs in the Web App

Select Rapid Alerts in the left menu. Seeing the page needs View alerts, which comes with the standard Agency User role. See Roles & Permissions. Everyone who can open the page sees the Call-outs tab. The Access Keys and Devices tabs need View alert devices, and Groups needs that or Manage alert groups.

Who can open a call-out

You can always open the call-outs that were sent to you and the ones you sent. Only Agency Admins and members with View alerts can open the agency's other call-outs. You can see who was alerted and each person's answer and estimated arrival, and the reporting party's name and phone number. Locations that members chose to share while responding are shown too.

The list shows each call-out with its Status, when it was Sent, who it was Sent by, how many Recipients it went to, and the Responses so far.

  • Active, Closed, and All at the left of the bar switch between open call-outs, finished ones, and everything
  • Search and Filters narrow the list, and Filters can limit it to one type of call-out
  • The tiles show how many call-outs are Active, Resolved, or Cancelled, and how many members are Awaiting response or Responding. Select one to filter the list

Opening a Call-Out

Select a row to open it. You see:

  • The type of call-out and its title. Non-Emergency appears on a lower-urgency call-out
  • Who sent it and when
  • The details, location, and any special instructions
  • Counts for each response
  • A table of every member it went to, with their Response, ETA, and whether it was delivered and acknowledged

Select a member in the table to see the timeline of their responses.

Buttons to change a call-out's status or delete it are there but unavailable unless you hold Edit alerts or Delete alerts.

ResponseMeaning
RespondingThe member said they are coming
WatchThe member is standing by, watching the situation

Not delivered next to a member means the call-out didn't reach their device. A device needs an access key from an administrator to receive call-outs. Ask an administrator if you think that's you.
